The 291 Conditioning Studio is open on Fridays this semester for anyone to come and consult/work with Joyce Patrone every week from 12:45-2:40pm.

Please mark your calendars to come on days/times you are able – all Fridays except Spring Break!


 

TEDx Talk at the Mershon Auditorium Saturday February 23 @12pm. The presentation “Yes, she has an accent. Why don’t you?” will address the benefits of dance and movement in an immigration context. Performers from On Board(hers) will join Lucille Toth on stage.

WOMEN LEADING

Women Leading will feature works from:

Jan Erkert an accomplished choreographer, teacher, author and Head of the Department of Dance at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Laura Wade, a master ballet teacher and choreographer, has taught classes for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, among many others. Ms. Wade has been the Children’s Director for the Ruth Page Nutcracker since 2011.
Stella Hiatt Kane, the Director of Dance at Otterbein since 1996, and former Fosse dancer.
Susan Van Pelt Petry a Professor in the Department of Dance at The Ohio State University. and former Chair of the Department.
Jaime Kotrba an accomplished professional dancer and Executive Director of Columbus Dance Theatre.

We are offering OSU students $10 tickets.  To purchase tickets please follow the link below and be sure to bring your OSU student I.D. to the performance.

We are currently organizing the panels, and a schedule is forthcoming. Friday night will feature a book giveaway preview at 5:30 outside 180 Hagerty Hall, as well as our keynote address, “The Many Roads to Fairyland” by Haunted Ohio author and CMRS alum, Chris Woodyard, immediately following at 6:30pm in 180 Hagerty. A reception along with a book signing event will follow.

 As usual, there will be an opportunity for interested grad students to have lunch with Chris Woodyard that Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the Faculty Club. If anyone is interested in attending the 2/22 lunch, please contact me (khansari.3) by Tuesday, February 19. We’ll have spots available for several students. The lecture is of course open to all – no RSVP required!
