We are currently seeking the roles of Bernardo and Anita. Both of which need to be Latinx dancers.
Bernardo is a dancer first – Anita more of a dancer who can sing very well. Do you have anyone enrolled in your program, an alumni, or someone you know in the dance community that you think may fit the character descriptions below? If so, we would love to get in contact with them to request a dance reel and potentially to hear them sing.
BERNARDO – Male, 20’s. Latino. A proud, strong, handsome man. Bernardo seeks to carve out territory as a sense of identity for he and his friends. Maria’s brother and Anita’s boyfriend. Leader of the Sharks. Must be a strong dancer.

The American College Dance Association (ACDA) adjudication
Saturday December 1st
The American College Dance Association (ACDA) hosts nine regional festivals annually. College and University dance programs send their students to take classes from master teachers, participate in seminars and attend concerts of professional and student work. A panel of three adjudicators judges two or three works from each school, choosing a few for a final Gala concert.
Our adjudication for the three student-choreographed works that will represent OSU Dance at ACDA is Saturday Dec 1. We will consider new student works as well as dances presented last year.
This year our regional ACDA festival is at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, March 1-4 2019. Due to its proximity to Columbus, we will travel there daily, saving on hotel costs. This will allow us to send more students.
